Before you travel
Malta is in the EU and the eurozone, and traffic drives on the left. From the airport you reach Valletta or Sliema in about 30 minutes by bus or taxi; the ferry to Gozo leaves from Ċirkewwa.

Drinking Water
Drinking Water in Malta and Gozo
The tap water in Malta is drinkable, but it is recommended not to consume it regularly as the taste is not particularly pleasant. During your visit, it is better to buy bottled water, ideally in glass bottles. This is not only more environmentally friendly but also ensures a better taste.
Sockets
In Malta, sockets are used that are also found in the United Kingdom. This is due to the historical influence of Britain. Make sure that you may need an adapter if you bring electronic devices from another country.
Mobility in Malta & Gozo
It is best to download the BOLT app to move around Malta and Gozo flexibly. Alternatively, you can compare prices with UBER. For longer distances, a rental car is also suitable, just be aware of driving on the left. You can travel cheaply with public buses. There are also regular ferry connections available between Malta, Gozo, and Comino.
Ferries
Malta and Gozo are connected by ferries. There are two types of ferries: the Fast Ferry and the Channel Ferry. The Fast Ferry offers the best connection from Valletta to Gozo. If you want to travel to Gozo by car or motorcycle, you need to use the Channel Ferry.
Traffic Tips in Malta
Traffic in Malta is often very dense. If you are not traveling in the hottest months, July and August, you can reach many places easily on foot. A convenient way to avoid traffic is the ferry connection between Sliema and Valletta. From the ferry terminal in Valletta, you can easily take a bus to the city center. Alternatively, you can also use services like Uber or Bolt to get around the island quickly and easily.
